The world’s most expensive cupcake, “The Golden Phoenix”, was recently unveiled at Dubai’s Bloomsbury’s Cupcakes store. Presented on a 24 carat gold plated cake stand designed by Empire Morning, and rolled out on a 24 carat gold plated Princess Tea Cart, this delicious cupcake itself was wrapped in 23 carat edible gold.
Created by Shafeena Yusuff Ali, the founder of Bloomsbury’s Cupcakes, the cupcake was created using only the finest ingredients flown in from around the world. The cupcake was made from Dove’s Organic Flour, Rachel’s Organic Butter, 23 Carat Edible Gold Wrapping, Premium Amedei Porcelena Cocoa, and Vanilla Beans from Uganda. These five ingredients are what made the cupcake so expensive.
It was Ali’s desire to create a cupcake that was as beautiful as it was delicious, so she used the finest ingredients she could find to create the ultimate cupcake experience. What sets this cupcake apart from others is that it is completely edible. Other cupcakes have been created that were encrusted with gemstones which made them cost more, but they were not 100 percent edible.
The Golden Phoenix was a one-of-a-kind creation that sold for $1,000.00 dollars.
